The silent voyeur, a poem for Jane by Tracy Diane Miller

There is an eye that calmly watches
A silent voyeur who gratefully sees
The images of nature
A proud Earth sets forth for me

The majesty of trees
And buildings where shadows rest
A silent voyeur captures
Such beauty at its best

Respectfully the camera
And lens that joyously convey
The blanket of snow
That fell a January day

Even if the Earth gave a sigh
When her citizens questioned why
The silent voyeur watched
As snow poured from a noble sky

The silent voyeur records the mystery
A collection of photos she takes
A gift to cherish
Some day a part of history
