A heart’s journey, a poem for Mike by Tracy Diane Miller

I often hunger for the past
And drink from a cup of memories
If only
Childhood innocence could last

A time
When a smile or laugh
Was priceless
And scripted the day
A bruised knee
Was fleeting
The pain always went away

A heart’s journey
Through years
Through life
Through regret
But gratefully I won’t forget

My heart’s journey
Led me to you
My friend
Your compassion
Your support
Is without end
