Did the moon keep her promise, a poem for Arlene Allen by Tracy Diane Miller

Did the moon keep her promise
For last night I prayed for her to watch over you
As grief settled inside you
My desire was for you to make it through

A soldier in the night sky
The moon may be silent
But she is a voyeur to your pain
Did she keep her promise
So in the still of night
Did you found comfort in which to gain

I am thinking of you
With each poetic word I weave
I am praying that memories give
Strength not pain
Let your heart find a way to believe
