The courage you wear, a Mother’s Day poem for Arlene Allen by Tracy Diane Miller

When others look at you
Do they really know
The courage you wear
Certainly it is so

Even when sorrow
Pounds at your chest
As a mother
You give your daughter the very best

The courage you wear
I do admire
The example you set
Is likely to inspire

Clouds will journey
To reign in the sky
But before they bid goodbye
What might they say
To send you best wishes on Mother’s Day
