A poet paints a picture, a poem for @LeeRumohr by Tracy Diane Miller

A poet paints a picture
Her words are her brush
A heart becomes her canvas
A recipient’s soul she longs to touch

Words initially are cautious
As they prowl around her brain
Emotions are reluctant to be shared
For this is a cynical refrain

Once she begins to realize
A poem is her voice
To honor those who inspire her
Writing poetry is a fulfilling choice

Just as you are an actor
And the characters become a part of you
Even though countless fans you can not see
They admire the work that you do

A poet paints a picture
Her heart often is left raw
This poem is my thanks to you
For your performance as Jesse
A marvel that I saw
