Thoughts that prowl around my brain, a poem for @JennaRoseSimon by Tracy Diane Miller
Must I be imprisoned
By thoughts that prowl around my brain
Unbridled and screaming to be free
Is my torment visible
For all to see
I scream
Yet words are captured
Held hostage in the air
Why won’t you hear me
Acknowledge my despair
The thoughts that prowl around my brain
Sometimes destructive
Quite determined to undermine my courage
Through fury and wrath
What steps must I take
Slow yet deliberate
To journey towards a healing path
