Written across my face, a poem for @JennaRoseSimon by Tracy Diane Miller

Look at my face
What pain is clearly told
For written across my face
Is my heartache to behold
I was robbed of my innocence
Abuse is my tale of despair
Don’t turn away
Look at my face
At least prove to me that you care
I am me
I am me both day and night
Abuse is meant to silence me
To hide me away from sight
But I am me
I am a work in progress
My story told through my art
Why are you so afraid to look at me
Why don’t you have the courage to look at me
Because if you did
You would see the beauty of my heart
