A poem by me written for me:

Why can’t you see me, a poem by Tracy Diane Miller

As a little girl
So different was I
On the wings of verse
Was how I soared the sky
Why can’t you see me
Is what I often thought
To retreat within myself
For the comfort that I sought
I lived in a world of words
Emotions played my game
A purpose to the rhythm
When a poem found its name
Why can’t you see me
Beyond my wall of words
If I cried out for help
I wonder
Would I even be heard
